• Throughout the whole of human civilization, scientific explanations for the world around us have supplanted religious reasons.  Consistently. Overwhelmingly.  The reverse has never happened
  • There simply is no evidence.  There is no eternally burning bush. There is no man in the sky who strikes people down when they take his name in vain. There is no evidence that humans can part water. There is no evidence that humans can return to life after dying. There’s no evidence that the creation story in genesis is true any more than there exists evidence that the Norse creation myth is true.
  • There are an incredible amount of inconsistencies within particular religions (as evidenced by the multiple strains of christianity).  In addition, each religion claims to be the one true religion, with the one true, truely truth.  There’s no way to verify the supernatural claims of any of these religions, and thus there’s no way to determine which is true and which is not. Only one of them could theoretically be true, but they can all be false.
  • Humans created all the past religions, from the gods of Ancient Greece or Rome, to Japanese gods, to Egyptian gods, to the gods of the Incas.  A precious few people in the modern era believe those gods existed, and many readily admit that humanity created those religions.  It is plain that humans create myths.  There is no reason to believe that judaism, christianity, islam, buddhism, sikhism, or mormonism are anything other than a human creation.
  • Religious belief is passed down through families.  Parents raise their children in their religion, and to an overwhelming degree those children grow to accept the religion of their parents.  Most people do not come to their religious beliefs by taking a rational look at the evidence, or exploring various religions and coming to a conclusion.  Religious belief is indoctrinated in people at a young age, and more often than not, lasts a lifetime
